Spend the winter at the

Nordic Center

Make sure to add Nordic skiing to your routine for a guaranteed heart-pounding workout. The Mountain Course has 11 kilometers of professionally groomed track for skate and classic skiing, private and group snowshoe tours and ski instruction. Heading out under the Colorado blue sky instantly amplifies the day.

Located at the Cordillera Mountain Course Golf Shop, adjacent to the TimberHearth restaurant, it feels like Cordillera's best kept secret. Kids (and kids at heart) swoop down the sledding hill, located next to the Nordic Center pro shop.

The Nordic track opens mid-December for the season for property owners at no fee. It is open to the public as well. For more information about guest/public access, skate/Nordic ski rental and snowshoe rental, please call 970-926-5100.

In addition to the track at the Mountain Course, Cordillera also grooms a track on the Short Course for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and dog walking.

Winter Groomed Trails

Road bikers must pre-register with Cordillera on the Resident Portal. The bike will have an approved access sticker, affixed to the handlebar or affixed to a plastic ID card carried by the cyclist. Bicyclists need to follow Cordillera rules including wearing a bicycle helmet, obeying posted speed limits, stopping at stop signs, yielding to pedestrians, displaying proper illumination, riding single file and riding in the designated bicycle lanes or as far to the right as possible.

Outdoor Ice Rink

There's little as rewarding as the sound of the thwack of a puck or skates slicing the ice. Cordillera property owners spend hours on the ice, located on the tennis courts at the Athletic Center of Cordillera. The rink, which feels like it is at the edge of the world, has over 7,000 square feet of skating surface and is available for both free and hockey skaters with scheduled times designated for each usage.

Hockey and figure skates are available free of charge at the Athletic Center. Liability forms and identification are required to borrow skates. Benches and rubber mats by the rink provide a convenient location to lace stakes and protect the blades.

The rink opens December 10, 2020, and remains open mid-February (depending on weather).

Sleigh Rides

A horse-drawn sleigh ride is a quintessential part of a Rocky Mountain experience. Nestle under cozy blankets and let the world gently go by with Indian summer Outfitters at Bearcat Stables. From December to April, Indian Summer Outfitters offers sleigh ride and dinner services Wednesday through Saturday. It's a truly magical experience like no other.
